Why I made it

As a…

  • Muslim & student of Islamic Thought Student – Growing up in post 9/11 America was traumatic. Mainly, the amount of misinformation that the Muslim community didn’t do a good job of eliminating. Life was full of doubts; I was a borderline atheist. At age 18, I made a deal with Allah that I would dedicate my life to searching, but guidance is up to Him. Gaining knowledge has been a major game-changer. I can unlearn toxic teachings from my childhood and fill my cup monthly, weekly, and daily.
  • Career To Entrepreneur– English is my 3rd language. I didn’t even know how to say “cat” or “dog” when I arrived in the USA at the age of 10. I made it into two of the top 10 engineering colleges in the country. But I noticed something. Everyone had something I didn’t – they were training since they were babies, and I was always catching up. So I took a semester off to study, create a business plan, and pitch companies in New York. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but since they are at steady state, if I worked harder, I could be better than them (impact of compound effect). So I read weekly.
  • Married & wife for over 7yrs – I got married at age 23 to a man from a completely different background. I had a lot of growing up to do, like him. But I didn’t grow up in a household that “taught” how to successfully work through conflict. Neither of our parents trained us; it was all school, school, school. I accidentally got a book while traveling in Sri Lanka & it completely changed my behavior and how I processed conflict. It unlocked something in me! Every time I can’t figure us out? I pick up a book and there lays the solution (all on the knowledge hub).

  • Mom of multiple kids back to back – I had no idea how to raise kids! I was the oldest, and my immediate family was one of the few that immigrated to America. I had NO training & NO experience. I felt trapped & hopeless when I lost our first pregnancy. Then had one & suddenly became pregnant with my second child 11 months later. So I stopped scrolling and started reading from experts. They (on the knowledge hub) completely transformed my mindset & taught me my power. Turned out it was the lack of knowledge that caused the suffering. I feel like a MASTER of my life and enjoy my kids (so much so, I CHOSE to have another).

About Ayyu...

I brought together my Islamic thought education, systems thinking from my engineering background, and 10+ yrs of habit building to create tools that simplify & streamline busy lives — while aligning your deen and dunya.


After 10 years of trying to figure out the multiple life-changing events that have broken me down to my core, I decided there must be a method to this madness.

In 2018, a friend and I generated $400k within a year for our nonprofit startup. I was forced (happily) to learn how important setting up structures are for a successful company—those years taught me that we need to take our life as seriously as major corporations.

Why don’t we? Maybe it’s because we don’t know where to start balancing it all. Is there even a way to thoroughly structure one’s personal life? Perhaps it isn’t popular enough to try. Or it is too hard. But I have tried & succeeded.  

I am a married mother of 3 (4 & under), and I use my methodology & framework daily to find peace and deep fulfillment in the dream life I was able to create for myself, biiznillah.

Ayyaantu has a B.Sc in Environmental Engineering from Purdue University. And studied Islamic Thought for 2 years under an Early Postgraduate program by The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).
